Hmm, defo didn't meant to come across that way In all honesty, the post got inspired by this HackerNews hall-of-famer: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19728132 It sounded like an interesting story As we leave our scrappiness behind soon, I thought some hackers would like to hear our (scrappy) story |

I copied him. His HN post from 2019 is what planted the seed: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19728132 I'm from Mississippi and know some small farmers but none of the big sweet potato producers. "Mississippi Sweet Potatoes" coming from the "Sweet Potato Capital of the World" has always been a strong branding in my head growing up, just being near the influence of that. It's not hard to get their wholesale but I wanted to have some orders before finding a partner. |
