Ask HN: Best way to get started with AI?

Hey guys -

I'm a intermediate-level programmer, and would like to dip my toes in AI, starting with the simple stuff (linear regression, etc) and progressing to neural networks and the like. What's the best online way to get started?

Thanks!

This is as good a place as any to ask this I suppose.

Google results being as manipulated as they are these days, what is the best course/book to get to self teach on artificial intelligence? I'd like to spend a few months familiarizing myself with concepts and writing programs with what I learn to see if anything useful comes of it.
